This policy explains how Black Antler ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit this website, buy from us, book with us or get in touch. We handle your information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, and what you bought.
- When you contact us: whatever you enter into our contact and enquiry forms.
- When you pay: your payment is handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you browse: the pages you view and the searches you make on this website.
How we use it
- To process and deliver your order.
- To send you order confirmations, invoices, shipping updates.
- To reply to your enquiries.
- To keep records we are required to keep, such as for tax.
- To understand how this website is used and improve it.
- To measure how well our advertising works.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the service providers that help us run this store, and only what each of them needs:
- VanguardCode — hosts this website and our store system on servers in Auckland, New Zealand, and keeps encrypted backups in New Zealand. VanguardCode handles the information only on our behalf.
- Our email provider — sends our emails to you.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — checks that form submissions come from a person rather than a bot.
- Google Analytics — tells us how visitors use this website, using cookies.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Some of these providers process information outside New Zealand. Where they do, we rely on them being subject to privacy protections comparable to those in the Privacy Act.
Cookies
This website uses a cookie to remember your cart between pages. It is needed for the store to work. Google Analytics also set cookies, as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the cart may not work without them.
How we protect it
Our store runs in its own isolated environment, information is encrypted when it is sent to and from this website, and only people who need access to run the store have it.
How long we keep it
We keep order and invoice records for seven years, as New Zealand tax law requires. We keep other information only as long as we need it for the purposes above.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Contact us at info@blackantler.co.nz. We will respond within 20 working days.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
